Challenge

KPMG Ireland’s annual national Budget campaign launches just hours after the Irish Government announces their yearly Budget update, with senior business leaders and relevant media personalities invited to a morning briefing at 7am the next day.

The challenge every year is to design and produce a consistent campaign across print, web and video while also producing assets for the morning event. I was also expected to create a detailed Budget analysis brochure, Taxing Times, overnight to have ready for the media event at 7am. For the meeting itself I would also create the opening video, a large-scale screen backdrop and supporting event assets, all against an intense deadline.

Solution

The creative concept centred around Leinster House, placing the Irish Government’s building against a bold blue KPMG-branded backdrop to directly reference the source of the Budget announcements. To bring energy to what could have been a static visual, I introduced a subtle animated swoosh device and created a highly detailed line illustration, which could be used across the main screen backdrop as a secondary visual asset.
